Overview

Morning Report is hiring a Human Resource Specialist to own day-to-day HR operations and help us scale a high-performance, people-first culture. You’ll manage recruiting workflows, onboarding, benefits, and HRIS hygiene while partnering with leaders on policies, engagement, and compliance for a remote-friendly team.

Responsibilities

  • Run full-cycle recruiting for select roles: sourcing, screening, scheduling, offers
  • Coordinate efficient onboarding/offboarding, equipment provisioning, and payroll setup
  • Maintain HRIS records, org charts, and compensation/leveling tables with audit accuracy
  • Administer benefits, leave management, and annual enrollments; resolve employee inquiries
  • Track compliance (I-9, EEO, wage & hour), coordinate trainings, and update policies/handbook
  • Support performance cycles (goal setting, reviews, calibrations) and manager enablement
  • Drive engagement initiatives: surveys, DEI efforts, recognition, and internal communications
  • Partner with Finance on headcount planning, recruiting spend, and vendor management

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years in HR operations, people ops, or HR generalist roles (startup or SaaS preferred)
  • Working knowledge of HRIS/ATS tools (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, Greenhouse, Lever) and Google Workspace
  • Solid grasp of U.S. employment basics (at-will, FLSA, leave, benefits, I-9, EEO) and remote-team practices
  • Detail-obsessed with strong judgment, confidentiality, and bias for action
  • Excellent written/verbal communication; calm under pressure and deadline-reliable

Nice to have: Multi-state payroll experience, basic analytics (Looker/Sheets), and experience supporting international contractors.
